Bennion will fight on for 'huge public health gains' of e-cigarettes

Lib Dem Euro MP Phil Bennion has vowed to continue to campaign for e-cigarette users after a key European Parliament committee voted for massive restrictions on their use.

MEPs in the Environment Committee backed a call to treat e-cigarettes as medicines, reducing their availability compared to tobacco and putting big new costs on users.

MEP hails veto on Tory plan to go soft on criminals

Lib Dem MEP Phil Bennion has welcomed the news that Liberal Democrats ingovernment have vetoed Conservative plans to opt out of key European crime-fighting measures which have led to some of Britain's most wanted criminals being brought to justice.

Under the Lisbon Treaty, the UK has the option of leaving a series of cross-border EU crime fighting measuresand must make a decision on whether to opt out by next year.

MEP joins food bank charity campaigners at Tesco in Wolverhampton

Lib Dem Euro MP Phil Bennion joined charity campaigners supporting the National Food Collections campaign by collecting donations from shoppers at the Tesco Metro store in the Mander Centre, Wolverhampton.

Phil joined store manager Terry Leary and local charity volunteer Polly Richards handing out shopping lists to customers on Friday afternoon, July 5th.
